The biggest advantage of CNT-based X-rays is that they enable compact equipment design and low-dose operation through digital control. For this reason, aweXome Ray supplies X-ray generators for portable imaging devices and dental CT systems used in implant procedures. We are also preparing to supply generators for C-arm systems, where medical staff are directly exposed to radiation. We have completed development of a 70kV generator and are now accelerating the development of a 150 kV model.

X-ray technology, widely used in non-destructive testing for industrial applications, has expanded from detecting foreign materials to identifying circuit defects. After several battery-related incidents and explosions, full inspection of battery cells is now essential. As battery designs become thinner and larger, the demand for high-performance X-ray generators is rapidly growing.

aweXome Ray has developed a CNT-based light source that reduced four types of influenza viruses by more than 99.9% within four hours in laboratory tests. Building on this result, we are continuing research on highly pathogenic avian influenza(H5N1).

UMUST R&D, a subsidiary of aweXome Ray, has been studying the biological effects of soft X-rays on animal cells and is currently commercializing its application for inflammation treatment. Through clinical trials conducted with the Jeju National University Veterinary Hospital and the Korea Racing Authority, the company is in the process of obtaining regulatory approval for veterinary use. Preparations for human clinical application are also underway in collaboration with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Seoul National University Hospital.

Photoionization is the process where atoms or molecules become charged by absorbing light energy. Traditional X-ray systems need about 15 kV to trigger this, but aweXome Ray’s CNT based cold cathode technology does it with less than 5 kV, which keeps it out of radiation classification. This makes it ideal for air purification and sterilization, as well as static elimination and surface inspection.
